Tesla Model Y Launch in India: Tesla has officially entered India with its first showroom. On this occasion, the company has launched its much awaited electric car Tesla Model Y in the Indian market. It is Tesla’s first car that has been introduced in India, and with this the competition in the Indian electric vehicle market has become even faster.

Tesla Model Y presented in two variants

Tesla Model Y has been launched in two variants in the Indian market-Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and Model Y long range rear-wheel drive (LR-RWD). Both these variants have a balance of powerful battery, attractive range and fast performance. The initial ex-showroom price of Tesla Model Y Rwd variants has been kept at ₹ 59.89 lakh, while the LR-RWD variant starts at ₹ 67.89 lakh. The on-road price is different according to the city, in which it reaches ₹ 61.07 lakh and ₹ 69.15 lakh in Delhi and Mumbai, while the on-road price in Gurugram goes up to ₹ 66.07 lakh and ₹ 75.61 lakh respectively.

Charging and Range – Fast charge will be in only 15 minutes

The biggest feature of Tesla Model Y is its battery and charging technology. This car comes with fast charging facility, allowing adequate charging in just 15 minutes. The range of Model Y Rwd variants is about 500 km, while the range of long range variants reaches 622 km. The top speed of both variants is 201 km per hour and it takes only 5.9 seconds to catch a speed of 0 to 100 km.

Price in India higher than global market

However, the price of Tesla Model Y is much higher than the international market in India. Its initial price in the US starts at $ 44,990 (about ₹ 38 lakh), 263,500 yuan (about ₹ 30 lakh) in China and 45,970 euros (about ₹ 45 lakh) in Germany. Due to import duty, tax and logistic cost, its price in the Indian market has increased.

New style in design and exterior

Tesla Model Y has been introduced with a modern and futuristic design. It includes updated design elements compared to before. The front of the car is given sleaker LED headlights, giving it a sporty and innovative look. Connected tail lights are provided in the rear side, which makes its premium design even better. However, there has been no change in size and dimensions.

Color option and color variants

MODEL Y has been made available in several attractive color options, including Pearl White, Stealth Gray, Deep Blue Metallic, Ultra Red, QuickSilver and Diamond Black. These colors not only enhance its beauty but also give customers the option of selection as per personal choice.

This entry of Tesla in India can prove to be a major turn for the electric car market. The company is planning to launch more models in future, and discussions of setting up manufacturing units in the country are also intensified.
