Tesla has finally launched its most awaited electric pickup truck Cybertruck. This powerful vehicle, which came out as a concept in 2019, has created a stir in the whole world with the launch. It has been launched in the US with two variants-mid-spec AWD and Top-Spak Cyberbist version. Its entry in India is expected to be up by 2025, that too as a fully imported unit (CBU).
Price and variants
Tesla Cybertruck prices start from USD 79,990 (about ₹ 66 lakh) and go to USD 99,990 (about ₹ 83 lakh). The company has just launched only two variants – Twin Motor (AWD) and Cyberbeast. It has proved to be about 50-60% more expensive than the price declared by Alan Musk in 2019. The launching of the base single-motor variant is not possible before 2025, the estimated price of which is being reported to be USD 60,990 (about ₹ 51 lakh).
Whom to compete?
The cybercatck competes directly against all-electric pickup trucks such as Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T, and GMC Hummer Ev.
Production and delivery
The company has delivered only 10 units during the launch event. Tesla has confirmed that large -scale production will be launched at Gigafactory in Austin, Texas in early 2024. AWD and Cyberbeast variants will be delivered on a large scale in 2024.
Demaration and build quality
The length of cybertruck is 5,669 mm, width 2,030 mm and height 1,791 mm. It weighs more than 3 tons and the loading capacity is about 5 tons. Its ground clearance can be adjusted up to 443 mm. The body of the truck is made of stainless steel, which is said to be .45-caliber tablets. Musk claims that this vehicle offers more torrent rigidity than McLaren P1.
Performance and Battery Range
The AWD variant comes with two motors. Its top speed is 180 km/h and it can catch a speed of 0–100 km/h in 4.1 seconds. Its estimated range is 547 km, which can be extended to 760 km via Range Extender.
The cyberbeast variant is equipped with a tri -motor setup. Its top speed is 209 km/h and it captures 0–100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. The range of this variant is 515 km, which can be increased to more than 708 km through Range Extender.
Features
The cybertruck has a 4 × 6 feet loading bed at the back. Also, it has a 35-inch tire, steer-by-veirure system, four-wheel steering, power-opening front, and 18.5-inch main touchscreen. There is also a 9.4-inch second screen for the passengers sitting behind.
Tesla Cybertruck has set a new benchmark in the electric vehicle segment thanks to its unique designs, powerful performance and futuristic features. Its launch in India is eagerly awaited.
