Indian automobile industry veteran Tata Motors is preparing to make a big bang in the market once again. The company has recently announced its new product strategy, under which it is going to launch a long range of petrol, diesel and electric vehicles in the budget segment of Rs 10 lakh to 20 lakh. Under this strategy, the company has announced an investment of about 33,000 crore to 35,000 crore rupees in the coming five years.
30 new vehicles will be launched
According to media reports, Tata Motors plans to launch a total of 30 new models in the next few years. These will not only include traditional engine vehicles (petrol and diesel), but also a large range of electric vehicles will be brought to the market. The focus of the company will remain on the SUV segment as well as the hatchback and sedan vehicles, so that the needs of various budget customers can be met.
Tata at the forefront of EV market
Tata Motors is already playing a leading role in the electric vehicle segment in India. Currently, the company’s market share is around 50% in the EV segment. Tata has made a strong hold in this segment due to the popularity of affordable electric cars like Tiago Ev and Punch Ev. Now the company is working on a new strategy to further strengthen this leadership.
Special 2: 2: 2 strategy
Tata Motors has made its special “2: 2: 2” strategy amidst increasing competition in the EV market. This means that the company will launch two electric models in three different segments-entry level, mid-segment and premium segment. This strategy will give customers more options as well as provide the company the ability to compete in every budget range.
These will be Tata’s new electric vehicles
The new electric offers from Tata Motors include Harrier EV and soon to be launched in the Sierra EV premium segment. At the entry level, Tiago EV and punch EV are already present in the company’s lineup. There is a plan to bring CurvV EV with Nexon EV in the mid-segment. Additionally, the Altroz EV may also soon appear on Indian roads, which is likely to be used as punch ev.
Kuno and Terra will have a new explosion
Tata Motors is currently working on two new compact electric vehicles named Kuno and Terra. Although the company has not given any official information about their price and launch date, it is expected that these vehicles will be of budget-friendly and powerful range.

Work on hybrid SUV also starts
Along with this, Tata Motors is also working on Hybrid SUV, which has been given REX or Rev codenames. This SUV can be launched between 2027 and 2028. This step is a sign of preparation at that time when the demand of consumers on both hybrid and electric technology in India will be increasing rapidly.
This aggressive strategy by Tata Motors is sure to increase the difficulties of competitive companies like Mahindra. Especially given Tata’s hold in the EV segment, it is clear that the company is going to play a decisive role in the Indian auto market in the coming time.
