Renault is preparing to re -launch its highly popular SUV Duster in India in a new form. This SUV was first launched in the Indian market in 2012 and received a great response in the initial years. But over time, its sales declined due to not being able to meet new emission standards and finally in 2022 the company removed it from the Indian market.
Now once again Renault is going to return this famous model to a new avatar. The new Duster is believed to be launched in 2025. This time it will be introduced with a 7-seater variant, making it more practical and family-friendly.
What can be a new name?
There are also discussions about the name of the new Duster. According to reports, it can be launched as Renault Bigster. The bigster will be a large SUV, which can be about 4.6 meters in length. Its wheelbase will be larger than before so that enough space can be found for the third line seat. This SUV will target customers who are looking for a large and stylish SUV in the mid-size segment.
External design has also been given a new look. Its wheel arch, door molding, and body cladding are largely simple and premium compared to before. The testing of the SUV has already started, so that the preparation of its launch can be gauged.
Engine and performance
In the new Duster, the company is going to provide a 1.6-liter e-tech hybrid engine, which can create a strength of about 140 bhp. This powertrain will not only give more mileage, but will also be favorable in terms of environment. Due to the hybrid system, fuel efficiency will also increase and the performance of the car will be smooth.
This will be based on the CMF-B platform of the SUV renault, which is specially designed keeping in mind the electrified powertrain and new technological features.
Advance Technology and Features
Many updates will also be seen in the new duster in terms of technology. It can be given a 10.1 -inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 7 -inch TFT digital instrument cluster. Along with this, Advance Driver Assistance System (ADAS) will also be present, which can provide safety features like lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring.
In addition to adding the third line seats to the interior, there have not been much changes, making it even more suitable for family use.
The return of the new Duster from Renault can be a major step in the SUV segment. With new designs, hybrid engines, 7-seater setups and advanced features, this SUV can once again become customers’ choice. It is expected to be launched in 2025 and can compete with vehicles like Hyundai Creta, Tata Safari and Mahindra Scorpio-N in the Indian market. This stake of Renault can be helpful in reinforcing his position in the SUV market.
