Tata Curve Ev vs Nexon Ev – Who is the real king of electric SUV?

Tata Motors has added a new SUV to its electric vehicle portfolio – Tata Curve EV. The car has been positioned above the company’s current popular Ev Nexon EV. While the price of Curve EV starts at ₹ 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom), Nexon EV is available from ₹ 14.49 lakh. Both vehicles are excellent options in their respective segments, but there are many big differences in their design, range, features and technology. Let’s know in detail.

What is the difference in design and size?

Tata’s new design philosophy is seen in both trains. There are many things like connected LED DRLs and taillights, but the coupe-style body of Curve EV makes it quite different from Nexon EV. Curve EV looks more sporty and futuristic. It has flush-fitting door handles, which have been seen for the first time in any Tata vehicle. In contrast, the Nexon EV has normal door handles.

Talking about dimensions, the curve EV is 4310 mm in length, while Nexon EV is 3994 mm long. Similarly, wheelbase is also 2560 mm in the curve, which is longer than Nexon EV. Overall, Curve EV is longer, high and space for it, which also makes its road presence better.

The most special feature is its gesture control electric tailgate, which is the first time in this segment. It also has Level-2 Adas (Advance Driver Assistance System), which includes more than 20 safety features.

At the same time, the interior of Nexon EV is also equipped with technology, but it does not have advance features like gesture tailgate or Adas. Its seats and interior layout looks slightly traditional than curve EV.

Battery, performance and range – Who is powerful?

Both have 215 Nm of torque, but the performance of Curve EV is a bit better. It catches the speed of 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.6 seconds, while the Nexon EV takes 8.9 seconds.

Talking about the battery and range, two battery options are available in the curve EV – 45 kwh and 55 kwh. Their range is 502 km and 585 km (MIDC) respectively. On the other hand, the Nexon EV has 30 kwh and 40.5 kwh battery packs, whose range is 325 km and 465 km. Meaning is clear – Curve EV can cover long distances.

Curve EV is also ahead on the charging front. It has a 7.2 kW AC Charger Standard, while the Nexon EV has only 3.3 KW charger standard.

How much is the difference in the price?

Talking about the price, the initial ex-showroom price of Curve EV is ₹ 17.49 lakhs, which is for its creative variant. At the same time, the initial price of Nexon EV is ₹ 14.49 lakh which is for creative variant. If you compare the top models, the top variant of the curve EV goes up to ₹ 21.99 lakhs, while the top Empored of Nexon EV is ₹ 19.29 lakhs.
