Hero Vida VX2’s real range opened up the claims of the company, only 66km on full charge!

Hero Vida VX2’s: Hero MotoCorp has launched its new electric scooter Vida VX2 in the Indian Electric Two-wheeler market. This scooter has been launched in the market in two variants – Go and Plus. The company has made big claims about the IDC range of its top model Plus, but the recently revealed has raised questions on these claims.

VX2 Plus ran 66km in real world

The real range of this scooter was conducted by auto website Gaadiwaadi on the streets of Goa. The VX2 Plus has a 3.4kwh dual removable battery, which the company claims for 142km IDC range on full charge. However, this range is for ECO mode. During the riding test, the scooter was run in ride mode, with its estimated range 94km. But in real condition, this scooter ran only 66km from 100% to 0% charge. That is, 28km less than the company’s claim.

Riding mode and performance:

Hero Vida VX2 has three riding modes – Eco, Ride and Sport. According to these modes, the top speed of the scooter also changes. The maximum speed of the scooter in ECO mode is 40 km/h, in Ride mode it reaches 70 km/h, while the scooter in Sport mode holds the top speed of 80 km/h. The scooter was run in Ride mode during a real world test, which is considered the best suitable for balanced speed and range.

Features and Design:

The design of Vida VX2 is modern, stylish and rich in utility, making it an ideal choice for urban travelers and domestic use. This electric scooter is available in a total of seven colors, some of which exclusive color options are available only in Plus variants. The scooter has LED headlights with premium finish, 12-inch alloy wheels on both wheels, and disc brakes in front for braking and drum brakes in the front (in plus variant). Talking about storage, 33.2 liter in GO variant and 27.2 liters of undersete storage space in Plus variant.

Battery, motor and charging:

Talking about the battery, the GO variant has a single removable battery pack of 2.2KWH, which gives a range of 92 km according to the IDC data. But under real circumstances, its range is limited to 64 km in ECO mode and 48 km in Ride mode. At the same time, two removable battery packs of 3.4kwh are available in the Plus variant, which claims to give a 142 km IDC range on full charge. It takes about 120 minutes to charge from 0 to 100% with the help of fast charger. Talking about the performance, it has a permanent magnet synchronous motor, which generates 6kwh power and 25Nm torque. The Plus variant is capable of catching a speed of 0 to 40 km/h in just 3.1 seconds.

Whom to compete?

Hero Vida VX2 competes with electric scooters such as TVS IQUBE, Ola S1, Ather Ris and Bajaj Chetak in the Indian market. However, the decline in real range may raise questions about its credibility in the minds of customers.
